The Big Game Releases of 2026 – GTA 6, Marvel’s Wolverine & More

The first half of 2026 has already introduced some of the best titles, like Resident Evil Requiem, 007: First Light, Pragmata, and Forza Horizon 6. These are absolute giants, but they are not the ultimate ones yet. Moving into the next quarter, we are now seeing almost every major franchise planning to drop something big. From the long awaited arrival of Marvel’s Wolverine to the inevitable industry-shifting launch of Grand Theft Auto VI this November, the biggest titles of 2026 are still yet to come.

Here are the big game releases that are highly anticipated and are all set to launch in 2026.

GTA 6

Topping the charts is none other than GTA 6. Rockstar Games has yet to deliver one of its most ambitious open world experiences. Grand Theft Auto VI is all set to launch on November 19, 2026. Vice City is back, and this time it’s more modernized and neon soaked compared to what it was in the era of Tommy Vercetti and Vance. The Vice City of GTA 6 is set in the fictional state of Leonida, where the game begins with dual protagonists Jason and Lucia, pushing a strong narrative that follows high stakes criminal exploits. The game features next level graphics, high end physics, incredible crowd density, and a heavily updated systemic AI, which delivers a deep and immersive experience.

It’s available for pre order, with pre orders already open ahead of its late fall arrival. If you haven’t had the chance to grab your pre order copy yet, check it out on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft.

Marvel’s Wolverine

While already basking in the light of its success with Spider-Man’s winning franchise, Insomniac Games is bringing a much darker, grittier tone to the superhero genre with Marvel’s Wolverine. This long awaited title starts with Logan as a standalone warrior coming out of isolation to rejoin the mutant strike force, Team X. Logan is all set to embark on an emotional and violent journey across locations like Tokyo to stop a billionaire’s mutant hunting operations, and this time, he is joined by his dream girl, Jean Grey, along the way. The recent gameplay reveal confirms that the game is action packed, full of combat with the violent, visceral, and raw animalistic instincts of Logan, slashing with his iconic adamantium claws.

The title is all set to release on September 15, 2026, and serves as PlayStation’s flagship exclusive ahead of the late year release window

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2

Officially announced in February 2026 on PlayStation, Metal Gear Solid, Master Collection Vol. 2 is the ultimate collection from Konami set to release later this year on August 27, 2026. The game features Solid Snake’s cinematic final chapter to appear on modern platforms with better resolution, modernized control schemes, and a whole lot better frame rate. The master collection, along with MGS4 contains the HD version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (complete with its six-player online cooperative and versus multiplayer modes) as well as the rare 2000 Game Boy Color spin-off Metal Gear: Ghost Babel as a digital bonus. This collection is currently available on pre-order at $50 and will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

Phantom Blade: Zero

Set in a bleak, punishing universe known as the “Phantom World,” Phantom Blade Zero tells a dark “Kung Fu cyberpunk” revenge narrative heavily inspired by traditional Chinese Wuxia mythology and steampunk aesthetics. You play as the protagonist Soul who is an elite lethal assassin serving a powerful cabal known as “The Order.” The story begins with the brutal murder of the patriarch of The Order and Soul is held responsible for this assassination. You are hunted by your former allies and yet, gravely wounded during the manhunt. A mystic healer heals you but in return grants you superhuman strength which will only last for 66 days. Soul’s job is to clear his name in this time span.

It’s a highly stylized Chinese action RPG game with fast paced combat and quite cinematic swordplay, and is all set to release in October 2026.

Dune Awakening

Set in an alternate timeline where Paul Atreides was never born, you are dropped into the punishing desert planet of Arrakis as a nameless survivor. You are tasked with constructing shelters, harvest spices, dodge gargantuan sandworms, and wage war against your rival factions. Dune Awakening is a complete flip to the standard “survival MMO” genre. Its legendary massive cinematic sci-fi aesthetics with Funcom’s brutal survival mechanics with colossal sandstorms randomly rearranging entire landmarks & resource nodes, Dune Awakening is all set to introduce one of the breathtaking experiences in the gaming industry, all ahead of its time. It is set to release in September 2026 for fans out there.

Control Resonant

Changing the view from the claustrophobic hallways of the Oldest House, the story follows Dylan Faden, the supernaturally gifted “parautilitarian” brother of Jesse Faden, as he ventures into a warped Manhattan that is on the brink of absolute paranatural annihilation by a new reality-bending cosmic threat. Remedy Entertainment takes their acclaimed psychological narrative design to a massive urban scale with reality-shifting & architectural distortion mechanics embedded directly into the gameplay. Experience the transformation of a living city into a mind-bending, gravity-defying playground this September. Enjoy exploring the creepy atmosphere and weirdly interesting story of Control Resonant as Dylan Faden, who also appeared for a short while in Alan Wake 2 in the Return Addendum: The Lake House.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy

Set 15 years before the events of A Plague Tale: Requiem, players control Sophia, a fierce young smuggler on the run who travels to the mysterious Minotaur’s Island to unravel ancient secrets tied to the devastating Prima Macula curse. Why is it most anticipated release in the Plague’s Tale sequel? It fundamentally changes the formula of the franchise. While the previous games were heavily built around strict, slow-paced stealth and avoiding swarms of rats, Resonance introduces a much more aggressive, capable protagonist and a grander scale of adventure. Unlike Amicia, who relied almost entirely on her sling and stealth, Sophia is a trained, aggressive brawler. You can now have faster and more immersive combats during your adventures and utilize game mechanics like precision parries, swift dodges, and brutal counter-attacks using swords and daggers.

The game is all set to release on August 27th 2026 for PlayStation, XBOX and Windows.

Are You Ready?

The remaining half of 2026 seems like the absolute  juggernaut, bringing forward some of the most engaging titles holding the potential to redefine gaming experiences. Whether you’re waiting to tear through the neon-soaked streets in GTA 6 or survive the colossal sandstorms in Dune Awakening, buckle up because the year hasn’t ended yet. Lock in your copies in pre-orders so you can jump in on day one, grab your controllers and set yourself on a wild ride. So once again we ask, are you ready?!
