Huawei Just Shipped 100 million Smartphones and It’s Not

Last week, Huawei announced that it has beaten its own benchmark from last year on mobile shipments. According to Huawei, last year the company had shipped around 100 million smartphones till the 18th of July. Apparently this year, Huawei completed its target almost a month and a half earlier. It has been successful in completing its 100 million smartphone shipping benchmark on the 30th of May, 2019.

It looks like the Chinese are seriously working on minimizing the amount of time taken to ship 100 million handsets. Back in 2015, they were able to ship that amount of smartphones till the 22nd of December. And in just for years, they have successfully cut down that time in half doubling up their business profit margins.

Huawei’s competitor Xiaomi, in comparison, was able to ship the same amount of smartphones till October of 2018. However, we are still waiting for Xiaomi to highlight its achievement anytime soon.

Huawei has further revealed that its revenue has stepped up by 39% to 198 billion Yuan which is approximately US$30 Billion. It’s only a matter of time until it becomes one of the top-selling technologies. During a speaking session back in Shenzen last week, the Huawei CEO Ren Zhengfei revealed that the company has taken a massive hit of US$30 billion. Unfortunately, Huawei found itself going into a trade war with the United States which sent a massive blow to its smartphone market.

Keeping the realities in check, Ren revealed that,

“In the next two years, I think we will reduce our capacity, our revenue will be down by about $30 billion compared to forecasts.”

When sales revenue were discussed, Ren said:

“Our sales revenue this year and next will be about $100 billion.”

As far as the last year revenue is concerned, Huawei made a handsome amount of 721 billion Yuan of which 349 billion Yuan came from the consumers. It is expected to increase up by 45% each year.

Also, Ren revealed that their international smartphone shipments have dropped by 40%. Yet, Ren concluded that Chinese technology growth is very brisk and soon, they will see the rise of a new dawn.
