Microsoft Introduces the XBOX Series X Console at Game Awards

The next generation is here and Microsoft has announced the official launch of its Xbox Series X console. It all happened at the Game Awards 2019 hosted on the 12th of December. Microsoft revealed the name and the console design on the award ceremony leaving fans dumbfounded and mesmerized.

The new console looks more like a CPU unit of a common PC and it is pretty neat. It shows that Microsoft has planned to introduce one of the highest tier gaming cards to its all-new Xbox Consoles.

The company showed a brief glimpse of the new design in one of the trailers at the award ceremony.

Microsoft claims that the new console of Xbox Series packs quite a punch and will deliver the processing power four times more than the normal Xbox One X unit. According to Microsoft’s Xbox chief Phil Spencer, the new console design can be used in both orientations, vertical and horizontal.

At the ceremony, Microsoft showed the trailer of a new game created by Ninja Theory called Hellblade 2. If you’ve owned an Xbox Machine previously, then you must know that Hellblade is one of the high-end AAA graphic titles to play. Ninja Theory has planned to release a new sequel of the game which is specifically designed for the new engine. For now, the company hasn’t revealed exact specs.

Xbox Series X Specifications

Speaking of specs, Microsoft, on the other hand, has revealed the Xbox Series X exact specs. The new Xbox Series X console will feature a custom-designed CPU which will include the AMD’s Zen 2 and Radeon RDNA architecture. Microsoft has also used an NVMe SSD for fast data processing in the Xbox Series X. The new SSD will focus on boosting the load time of games and will support resolution up to 8K. It will support frame rates of up to 120 fps in games, will support ray tracing and variable refresh rates.

As far as the GPU is concerned, Microsoft has chosen not to reveal the performance specs just yet. However, Microsoft’s Xbox chief, Mr. Spencer has leaked a bit of information while giving an interview to GameSpot. When asked about the GPU performance on the new Xbox Series X, he responded:

“We wanted to have a dramatic upgrade from the Xbox One base console. So when we do the math, we’re over eight times the GPU power of the Xbox One, and two times what an Xbox One X is.”

While the Xbox One X caps at 6 teraflops of GPU power, the Xbox Series X will be capable of giving 12 teraflops easy. For those of you who haven’t caught a glimpse of the ultimate HellBlade 2 Senua’s Saga yet, here’ a sneak peek just for you guys.

Dimensions and Controller

The new Xbox Series X console has the same width as the Xbox One controller and is three times tall than the normal Xbox Machine. The team has also worked on optimizing the new Xbox Wireless Controller. At the occasion, the technical team at Xbox revealed a few highlights of the new controller.

“The size and shape have been refined to accommodate an even wider range of people. It also features a new Share button to make screenshot capturing and game clips simple.”

They further revealed that the new controller will be slightly smaller than the current one. Also, the newly updated controllers will work with the existing Xbox One consoles and the Windows 10 PCs.

It will also feature an auto-latency mode (ALLM) and Dynamic Latency Input (DLI) which will make the Xbox Series X one of the highly responsive consoles in the world. In his interview with GameSpot, Mr. Spencer further indicated that the new Series X is a console design for future products in the cloud.

What’s More?

The revealing ceremony of the Xbox Series X marks another great step taken by Microsoft in the world of future gaming. And with the reports of the organization’s plans on the two next-gen consoles, the Xbox Series X is one of the latter and powerful ones. The other less powerful console which is planned to be launched alongside the Xbox Series X is the lower-priced module, the Xbox Scarlet.

With the things, the nex Xbox Series X has been promising about, it looks like the Xbox is about to break new grounds into the world of console gaming. It’s just a matter of time we’ve to wait and see.

First off I would like to say awesome blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you
don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your thoughts prior to writing.
I have had trouble clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out.
I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to
be wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints?
    Thank you!
